2010 | Co-Directed and Produced with Ronan Glynn

A short documentary exploring the lost way of life of British lighthouse keepers. As our world is increasingly automated, this isolated occupation has quietly disappeared from our coastlines. This film records the stories of remarkable human nature in an often extreme environment before they too disappear.

This film won funding from IDEASTAP and was kindly assisted by the National Maritime Museum Cornwall.

"Behind the Light, about the lighthouse keepers, sad and elegiac, spoke strongly of those who fall through the fault lines of progress. I was very moved by this film and think it deserves to win film of the month."
